Dr. Varona, a prominent member of the electrical engineering profession in the Philippines and one of the strong proponents of Building Information Modelling, discussed that Virtual Mobilization will be a key factor in the mitigation of the effects of COVID-19 in the Architecture,Engineering and Construction (AEC) sector.

Dr. Varona also noted the success of his group, Multi-Disciplinary Institute of Technology, Inc. (MIT),  in minimizing the effects of the government enforced Enhanced Community Quarantine in the Philippines through the use of virtual platforms.

Virtual mobilization, according to Dr. Varona, will be the new normal in the AEC sector in the future through the use of technological tools enabling engineers to practice their profession from anywhere and at anytime.
